For Prospective Students: For entering freshmen at Texas Tech University, choosing to take the course Interdisciplinary Studies 1100: Tech Transitions (a.k.a., The Freshman Seminar) is a no brainer. Our assessments show that students who complete I S 1100 earn higher GPAs in their academic career and persist to graduation at a higher rate than students who do not take the course. Add to those facts that you get to make immediate friends with other students focused on their academic, social and personal success, as well as working with a faculty member with a wealth of experience and knowledge about how to help students be successful, and you have made a choice to start at the top and work your way UP from there!
